Visiting speaker: Dotty Kultys — Filmmaker and Storywriter

On Wednesday 24th February 2016 we will be hosting Dotty Kultys as our Visiting Speaker. Her talk to the Animation students, ‘Fit For Festivals’, is on the subject of applying to film festivals and the practicalities involved with the process.

Dotty Kultys recently graduated from the MA Animation course at the University of the West of England. Her graduation film ‘The Girl Who Spoke Cat’ has been officially selected by various prestigious festivals, including: Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival (UK), New York International Children’s Film Festival (USA), Animafest Zagreb (Croatia), Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival (France), Glasgow Short Film Festival (UK) and Zlin Film Festival (Czech Republic).

During her studies Dotty focused especially on directing and story development. She is currently based in Bristol, UK. With a strong background in theatre — BA (Hons) in Acting and several years of performing and theatre-making — she likes to bring a certain dose of naivety and simplicity into her work.
