UWE Grads Calling the Shots

Calling the Shots has announced that two of our graduates, Harry Burbidge and Efa Blosse-Mason are one of their most recent commissioned creatives!

They’ll be one of 20 audio projects and eight short films from across the South West. They will be working alongside Calling the Shots, Screen Cornwall, Kaleider, Somerset Film, Create Studios and Artful Scribe. Here is what the graduates said about their upcoming projects:

Blodeuwedd’s Gift is a poetry film inspired by the ancient Welsh myth of a woman made of flowers turned into an owl and banished to spend eternity in the darkness of night. Through the form of 2d animation, this project explores the dark city streets at night for women today.

Having Aspergers Syndrome, Secondary School was the biggest challenge in my life.  In my piece, Spectrum, I used a soundscape with human speech, experimental Foley, field recording and music to immerse audiences in the panic and anxiety I endured during this difficult time in my life.

Calling the Shots has had a close relationship working with graduates over the last ten years and it’s lovely to see that relationship continued onwards. To find out more about them and their new creative teams check them out here: Meet Our Third Round of New Creatives!
